The extreme ultra-wide Fisheye perspective of 180 Degree created fills the entire frame, making it especially useful for action videos, tight quarter filming or scenes where distortion, exaggerated perspective, and extreme depth of field are desired. As part of the Rokinon Cine DS Lens System, the Rokinon 12mm T3.1 Cine DS Full Frame Fisheye offers features designed for the cinematographer including:1) De-Clicked aperture for smooth, seamless and silent adjustment 2) Tight color matching for consistent performance when swapping focal lengths3) Apertures calibrated in T-stops for an absolute measurement that is dependable from lens to lens 4) Dual calibrated right and left side of the barrel distance, depth of field and T-stop Scales for easier adjustment from either side of the camera5) Unified Cine DS System focus gear and aperture gear positions so that follow focus and other rig accessories won't need re-adjustment when swapping lenses. The optical design includes three Extra-Low Dispersion Elements and two A spherical Elements to control coma and chromatic aberrations. An advanced combination of Nano Coating plus Ultra Multi Coating is employed to reduce flare and ghosting to ensure high image quality in all lighting conditions. The Inner Focusing System (IF) design allows focusing to 7.9”while eliminating changes in length and rotation to keep the included petal type lens hood always properly oriented.
